If the city parks get too crowded, it is always possible grab a picnic table and fire up a barbeque grill at Stevens Creek County Park. The park encompasses Stevens Creek Reservoir and the surrounding woodlands, which are prime areas for all kinds of recreation.

The reservoir is home to turtles and a number of fish, including catfish, bass and crappie. The waterway is open to kayaks, sailboats and other nonpowerboats for a fee of $7. Winding around the reservoir’s perimeter are multiple trails for mountain biking and horseback riding, and some just for hiking.

These forest walkways bring visitors close to nature, including more than 125 bird species. There is also a 28-station archery range in the southeast corner of the park. For more hiking, bike and horse trails, visit the Upper Stevens Creek Park off of Skyline Boulevard.
